So, James and I have been blessed to find a stunning home that we both love. While we have several furniture pieces that are worth hanging on to, the bulk of our furniture came from Ikea (when we moved into our first apartment, we had basically nothing and a microscopic budget). While Ikea is a definite favorite of mine, most of our pieces are the cheapest of the cheap and aren't in good shape anymore. Also, they really don't go with the aesthetics of our new old home (see what I did there?), so it is time to set them free.
As a result of that, we needed to- and still need- to go shopping for furniture and home decor. I want to give you an update of where we are with that process! Items that we have purchased so far:
As a result of that, we needed to- and still need- to go shopping for furniture and home decor. I want to give you an update of where we are with that process! Items that we have purchased so far:
- A dining table [from World Market] (available here)
- A dining room rug [from World Market] (available here)
- A cabinet for book storage [from Ikea} (available here)
- Baskets for the kitchen shelves [from Target] (available here)
- Curtains for the living room [from Target] (available here)
- A floor lamp for the living room [from Target] (available here)
- A bed frame for the master [from Ikea] (available here)
- Curtains for the master bedroom [from Target] (available here)
- Nightstands for the master bedroom [from Ikea] (available here)
A note regarding the nightstands: they are a project for James and I and I can't wait to share the results with you! They are being totally transformed from Ikea to fabulous!
I am so thrilled with all of the beautiful pieces we were able to find! James thinks the best part is that we found all these items at great prices that won't break our budget. That being said, we have a ways to go until the home feels polished. Here is a list of what we still need to find:

- A desk for the guest bedroom (this will probably happen down the road a bit, as we have placed our old dining table in there for now and there are more pressing things for us to address)
- A desk chair for the guest bedroom
- Curtains for the guest bedroom
- A mattress for the guest bedroom (we will most likely end up purchasing a nice mattress set for the master and moving our current mattress over to the guest room)
- A credenza for the dining room
- Either two head chairs or a bench for the dining room (I keep going back and forth on which to choose)
- A large shelving unit for the kitchen
- A porch swing (the previous owner had one and left the hooks, so this is just a matter of finding one!)

As always, thanks for reading!
