For the first time ever, James and I hosted the Christmas festivities for our families. That meant that I was in charge of cooking the big Christmas dinner, something that had never fallen squarely on me before. While I was nervous, I was also excited to select and prepare the meal! We don't have a very large group for holidays (this year, it was just James and I, his parents, and my Dad), so it was not overly intimidating. I decided to prepare the following:
Breakfast:
Appetizers:
The Main Course:
Dessert:
So, while it was not exactly a gourmet feast, it was warm comfort food that satisfied the holiday cravings! And I had a great time preparing it! Maybe next year, I'll try my hand at cooking the ham myself.
We had a wonderful Christmas, full of family time, bonfires, and Christmas movie-watching! James and I were overjoyed to receive a porch swing and grill from my Dad and Starbucks and Home Depot gift cards from his parents. James got him and I bicycles so that we can more easily explore our new neighborhood! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!
